Q4 seasonal playbook
World Vegan Day marketing
Six plays on one page, in order. Halloween falls on Saturday 31 October and World Vegan Day on Sunday 1 November 2026, so you get one weekend message, not two back-to-back promos. Treat 1 November as a proof week, not a sale week, and leave Black Friday room to breathe.

Key for
Name the WVD job
One outcome only for the proof week. Everything else waits.
World Vegan Day is Sunday 1 November every year. This year Halloween sits on Saturday 31 October, so your calendar is already crowded. You still need one job for the week, not three launches fighting for the same inbox.
The play
- Pick one outcome: list signups, corporate catering inquiries, or creator content with usage rights. Write it in one line.
- Pause side quests that do not serve that line until after the weekend send (no second awareness day, no sitewide percent).
- Name the owner for proof, creators, and B2B so the job does not become "marketing will handle it."
- Share the line with kitchen, ops, and finance so public price and capacity stay aligned.
Example
A plant-based bakery chooses corporate gift box inquiries for WVD week. List growth and a Halloween treat drop wait until November. Catering gets a two-email October sequence to past office buyers. Social and email both point to the same gift box PDP at public price.
What good looks like
- Before: WVD means "post more" with no counted outcome.
- After: One line on the brief doc, one owner, one metric you can report without a discount code.
- Dining teams can still run awareness service, but covers are not traded for a percent that wrecks January.
One WVD job on paper, one owner, and a fence around everything else until the weekend send. Proof pages come next: if the link is not live, the posts should not go out.
Write your one WVD outcome in a single line before you brief anyone.

Key for
Publish the proof page first
Kitchen policy, spec sheets, or certification vs policy live before any post.
From 27 September 2026, EU rules on green claims (the EmpCo directive) ban generic environmental claims you cannot prove. World Vegan Day posts that say "vegan," "cruelty-free," or "eco" without a checkable page are the first thing a buyer, journalist, or assistant will challenge.
The play
- Choose the proof asset: kitchen policy, SKU spec sheet, or certification vs policy page. One primary URL.
- Publish crawlable HTML with dates, scope, and public price where relevant. No PDF-only proof for the main link.
- Run a claim pass: scope what "vegan" covers on that page, remove vague eco lines, and align with what you sell today.
- Link every brief, email, and post to that URL before anything schedules.
Example
A vegan hotel publishes breakfast scope and kitchen policy at public menu links before the first WVD Instagram story. Fashion lists composition and material names on the capsule PDP. A DTC brand publishes allergen and ingredient facts as crawlable HTML on the PDP, with an optional PDF download in the footer, so assistants can cite the page URL.
What good looks like
- Proof URL returns 200 on mobile without login.
- Creators and PR have the same link in the brief, not a different screenshot each time.
- No "sustainable kitchen" line unless the substantiation folder already holds the proof.
One proof URL live, one claim pass, and every asset pointing there before publish. Creators can carry the story once the page exists, not before.
Open your proof URL in an incognito window before you schedule the first post.
Key for
Seed creators without a code
Brief by 16 October, product in hand before the weekend, rights in writing.
Product and fashion teams feel pressure to "do something" for 1 November. A creator code on proof week is how you train the list to wait for Cyber Week.
The play
- Send briefs by 16 October so shipping and kitchen can land product before the Halloween weekend.
- Name one SKU or dish, public price, and the proof link from play 2.
- Write disclosure and usage rights into the brief (organic vs paid, whitelisting, end date).
- State the fence: no sale code, no "link in bio for percent off," proof story only.
Example
A snack brand ships two cases to six creators by 28 October. The brief asks for one use-case clip and one pantry shelf shot, both linking to the spec PDP. Disclosure language is copied from the FTC-friendly block in the guide. Paid usage is optional and priced separately. No WVD20 code exists.
What good looks like
- Pass: Brief sent, product received, posts cite the same proof URL.
- Fail: Creator posts a "limited WVD discount" you did not approve.
- Assistants can quote ingredient or material facts from your page, not from the caption alone.
Brief on time, product in hand, rights on paper, and no code in the thread. B2B kitchens and DTC gift boxes still need one concrete order in the WVD window.
Send the creator brief today with the proof link and a no-code rule.
Key for
Sell one B2B order
Office catering or a corporate gift box at public price for WVD week.
List signups are slow proof. One signed catering order or corporate gift box at public price tells you the WVD job is real.
The play
- Pick the SKU you already costed: office lunch bundle or corporate gift box, not a one-day custom buffet.
- Fence the window: WVD week, or the nearest weekday lunch if 1 November is a Sunday.
- Send two October emails to past office buyers with quote PDF, allergen footnote, and pickup default.
- Hold public price. No percent to "win" the day.
Example
A vegan restaurant reuses the office lunch menu from /catering/, quotes 40 covers for the Thursday after World Vegan Day, and locks headcount by reply email. A bakery sells 25 gift boxes to one agency at the sum of public PDP prices with a stated ship week. Both quotes link kitchen policy or spec sheets.
What good looks like
- Quote PDF matches the live menu or PDP numbers.
- One order signed or one deposit taken before the weekend send.
- No carbon-neutral catering line unless the substantiation folder supports it.
One B2B SKU, fenced dates, and public price on the quote. Consumer-facing work still needs one Halloween weekend send, not two promos on back-to-back days.
Name the one office or corporate SKU you will quote this week.

Key for
One Halloween weekend message
Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November: one claim-checked send, Halloween hook and WVD proof.
Halloween is Saturday 31 October and World Vegan Day is Sunday 1 November 2026. Two promos on consecutive days will fatigue the list and train buyers to wait for Black Friday.
The play
- Ask if Halloween is yours: do buyers already do something on 31 October you can serve at public price? If no, skip the spooky layer and lead with WVD proof only.
- Name one seasonal item, not a theme week: one dish, one treat SKU, or one rewear look, priced and dated on crawlable HTML.
- Run an ingredient and claim check on treats and menus (gelatin, carmine, shellac glaze, bone-char sugar where you claim it). Fashion: proof on file before any "upcycled" or deadstock line ships.
- Schedule one send across the weekend: Halloween item as the hook, WVD proof link as the body. Scope "vegan" to what it covers. No "cruelty-free" or "eco" without proof.
- Dining: put the Saturday dish on the HTML menu at public price; cap seating so Sunday WVD service is not wrecked.
Example
A bakery names a pumpkin spice tray at public price for Saturday pickup, then uses the same email to link the year-round spec page for Sunday World Vegan Day. One subject line, one send window, no countdown timer. A fashion brand posts one rewear rental look for Saturday night and links material composition for the capsule on Sunday. No second email on Monday begging for clicks.
What good looks like
- Before: Halloween percent on Saturday, WVD code on Sunday, list fatigue by Tuesday.
- After: One weekend asset, one proof URL, public price on both days.
- Treat SKUs link to spec sheets; menus are HTML, not a PDF poster only.
One weekend, one named item, one claim check, one send. Decide now what those subscribers see when Black Friday arrives, or you will owe them a deeper code three weeks later.
Draft one email or post that covers both days before you schedule anything.
Key for
Hand off to BFCM without whiplash
Decide what WVD subscribers see next. Full price WVD means no deeper Cyber Week code.
World Vegan Day is proof week. Black Friday is a different job. If you do not decide the handoff now, the list gets a second percent before Thanksgiving.
The play
- Name your BFCM posture in one sentence: skip, value kit, seconds, give-back, or full price with a stated reason.
- Fence subscribers: if WVD was full price, they do not get a deeper code three weeks later unless the offer is clearly different (bundle, seconds lot).
- Product brands: treat WVD and BFCM as one sequence, not two sale weekends. Dining usually skips BFCM; fashion capsules follow the awareness calendar, not fake scarcity.
- Schedule the next proof touch for house list first, paid second, with suppression rules ready.
Example
A skincare brand runs proof week at public price, then Cyber Week as an in-stock bundle at the sum of PDP prices. WVD buyers see the bundle email, not a steeper percent. A restaurant holds covers at menu price and sells gift cards at face value with plain bonus terms later in November. No sitewide WVD code appears in the archive.
What good looks like
- Posture written before 1 November, shared with finance and support.
- Email segments tagged so proof-week buyers are not blasted with panic discounts.
- Black Friday and Cyber Monday marketing is the next playbook, so the handoff has a home.
One BFCM posture, fenced segments, and no whiplash for people who trusted public price on proof week. Reread play one if the team drifts, and keep the checklist open for the next pass.
Write your one-sentence Black Friday posture before the weekend send goes out.
