Can an eco brand grow the order with an in-stock bundle and no discount?
Quick answer
Yes, when every SKU is in stock and the price is the sum of the public prices, or a bundle price already on the site. Do not invent a percent off, a greener set benefit, or a conversion percentage. Leave out-of-stock SKUs out. Checkout modules: checkout upsell. A second-order email: second order.
Vs other Intelligence guides
| Guide | Job |
|---|---|
| Checkout upsell | The module after the cart. This page is a set you merchandize while prospecting is quiet. |
| Free-shipping threshold | The cart minimum for shipping. Not a new percent off. |
| Seconds sale | Imperfect units at a stated seconds price. A bundle is not a seconds bin. |
| PDP proof | Where proof sits on one product. A bundle page still needs that proof per SKU. |
| PDP copy | Who may draft a description. The bundle uses lines already true. |
| Second order | One SKU, due buyers, public price. Not a multi-SKU set. |
| SKU sunset | Ending a product. Do not bundle a SKU you are about to kill unless the page says it is last stock. |
| This guide | Can an eco brand grow the order with an in-stock bundle and no discount |
Composite operator guidance. Not legal advice on pricing or EmpCo. Do not treat a worksheet SKU count as a typical order-value lift. Shopify does not publish a bonus for bundles.
Three prices. Only two may go live.
| Price | What it is | This week |
|---|---|---|
| Sum of public prices | Each SKU at the price already on its page | Default. No new code. |
| Already-published bundle price | A set price that was on the site before this stall | Keep it. Do not deepen it because traffic dipped. |
| Invented percent off | A new "save X%" written for the quiet week | Do not publish. |
Staff line: "If the unit is not in stock, it is not in the set." If every candidate SKU is out of stock, there is no bundle this week.
Proof ladder (in-stock bundle)
| What is true this week | You may do | You freeze |
|---|---|---|
| Two or three SKUs are in stock. Prices are public. | Publish the set at the sum, or at the old bundle price. | A new percent because ads stalled. |
| No second SKU is in stock | Skip. Sell the one SKU at its public price. | A bundle tile that cannot ship. |
| One SKU is seconds or last stock | Seconds sale or sunset. Say so. | Hiding a short-dated unit inside a "starter set." |
| The set claim is "more sustainable together" | Only if each SKU already carries that proof. | A new climate line for the bundle. |
Bundle kit
- List SKUs with stock greater than the set quantity you will sell this week.
- Write the price as the sum of public prices, or paste the bundle price already live. Mark NONE if you want full price only.
- Name what is in the box. No material that is not on each product page.
- Publish in Shopify only after a person checks stock and price.
- Tell the house list the set exists at that price. No code. Due-buyer timing stays on the second-order page.
- Checkout upsell stays a separate choice. Checkout upsell. Do not add a surprise percent there either.
| Leave out of the set | Why |
|---|---|
| "Save 15% while traffic is slow" | That percent did not exist. It is a discount written for the stall. |
| An out-of-stock or unmade SKU | The set has to ship. |
| "Lower impact as a trio" | A new green comparison needs proof per SKU. Claims calculator. |
| A seconds unit labeled as first quality | Seconds sale. |
Allow vs banned
| Surface | Allow | Kill |
|---|---|---|
| Bundle page | In-stock SKUs, sum or old set price | New percent off. Sold-out unit. New green trio claim. |
| Email about the set | Same price as the page | A code that is not on the page. |
| Checkout module | Its own guide | A stall discount hidden in the upsell. |
| Board story | Sets published at full sum, sets blocked for stock | Invented conversion or order-value percentage. |
EmpCo from 27 September 2026 still applies to bundle claims that ship in the EU. Do not publish an order-value lift for the set.
10-check bundle log (run this week)
Open inventory and the live theme, not a bundling-app growth screen. Log Y/N.
| # | Check | Pass |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Is every SKU in the set in stock? | Yes, or remove it. |
| 2 | Is the price the sum, or a price that was already public? | No new percent. |
| 3 | Did a quiet-week code appear? | Leftover offers go on the worksheet. |
| 4 | Does each SKU keep its own proof? | PDP proof. |
| 5 | Any new "better together" climate line? | Remove it unless the folder already proves it. |
| 6 | Seconds units labeled honestly? | Seconds sale. |
| 7 | Sunset SKUs excluded or named as last stock? | SKU sunset. |
| 8 | Checkout upsell free of a new percent? | Checkout upsell. |
| 9 | Free-shipping rule unchanged, or already the published threshold? | Threshold. |
| 10 | Did a vendor promise an order-value lift from the app? | Ignore. No invented %. |
Fix the set that week. They added a percent for the stall: take it off. They included a sold-out SKU: remove it. Do not invent a conversion percentage.
Bundle freeze (labeled example)
Replace every cell from inventory and the theme. Do not copy the example as an order-value benchmark.
| Field | Worked example | Your cell |
|---|---|---|
| In-stock set | 1 in-stock bundle example, or NONE | [bundle] |
| SKUs inside that set | 8 live SKUs example across the sets you checked | [skus] |
| Offers that invented a percent | 3 leftover invented-percent offers example. Remove them. | [invented_percents] |
| Sets that included an out-of-stock SKU | 2 leftover out-of-stock sets example. Unpublish or swap the unit. | [oos_sets] |
Those cells are worksheet labels, not a catalog quota. If [bundle] is NONE, do not publish a set this week.
Go / no-go
| Call | When |
|---|---|
| No-go on a new set | Fewer than two in-stock SKUs, a new percent, a sold-out unit, a new green trio claim |
| Go on the sum | In-stock SKUs at public prices, person checks the page |
| Go on the old bundle price | That price was already public before the stall |
| Partial go | Drop the out-of-stock unit and sell the rest at full price |
Score leftover invented-percent offers and out-of-stock sets. Order-value lift is not a KPI for this page.
Stock and the public price are the set.
Ship units you have. Charge the sum, or the set price already on the site. Leave the quiet-week percent out.
Template fields and 7-day run
| Field | Fill with | Do not invent |
|---|---|---|
[bundle] | In-stock set, or NONE | A percent written for the stall |
[price_rule] | Sum, or already-public set price | A new save-X line |
[signer] | Person who publishes the page | An app that reprices overnight |
[markets] | US / EU / UK / both | One climate line for every market |
Brief: "Set: [bundle]. Price rule: [price_rule]. Signer: [signer]. Markets: [markets]. If the set is NONE, do not publish. No new percent. No conversion %."
- Day 1: Export stock. Fill [invented_percents] and [oos_sets] from live offers.
- Day 2: Pick two or three in-stock SKUs, or mark NONE.
- Day 3: Price the sum. Confirm no new green line. Claims calculator.
- Day 4: A person publishes the page.
- Day 5: Email the house list at that same price, or skip the email.
- Day 6: Checkout and shipping threshold stay on their pages.
- Day 7: Run the 10-check log. Record sets shipped and sets held.
Frequently asked questions
Can an eco brand grow the order with an in-stock bundle and no discount?
Yes, when every SKU is in stock and the price is the sum of the public prices, or a bundle price already on the site. Do not invent a percent off, a greener benefit, or a conversion percentage. Leave out-of-stock SKUs out.
Is this the same as checkout upsell?
No. That page is the module in checkout. This page is a set you publish while prospecting is quiet.
Is a full-price pair still a bundle?
Yes. Two in-stock SKUs at their public prices are a set. A new percent is a discount, and this page leaves it off.
What if only one SKU is in stock?
Do not publish a set. Sell that SKU at its public price.
What do we measure if not a conversion %?
Whether an in-stock set existed, whether the price was the sum or an already-public set price, leftover invented-percent offers, and leftover sets with a sold-out unit.
